A new range of Sony E series MP3 players targeted at the midrange market may be introduced in the coming month.

The E series boasts of carrying a bunch of advanced features in its sleek frame that is just 8.5mm in thickness and weighs as low as mere 50g.

Sony Insider mentions that details of NWZ-E435 (2GB), NWZ-E436 (4GB), and NWZ-E438 (8GB) models are available on Sony New Zealand’s website.

It is expected to carry a 2 inch QVGA TFT screen with claimed battery life for video stretching over 7 hours and will have support for MP3 and AAC playback.

If that was not all, the website mentions that its compatibility with both Windows Media Player and iTunes combined with seamless Drag and Drop facility makes it a sure winner.

The devices will be available in range of colours with the 2GB version available in pink and black while the 4GB version can be brought in pink, red, blue or black shades; the 8GB version will only be available in black.

Currently no pricing details are available however it is expected that the price will be tailored towards the budget conscious mid range segment.

(ed : this might explain why Sony current Walkman range is being discounted online).
