Sony Ups Ante With 3.2-inch Xperia X5 iPhone Competitor

New images of Sony Ericsson’s next generation smartphone which many expect to challenge Apple iPhone head-on have come up on the internet.

There are rumours that this device called Xperia X5 boasts of a 3.2 inch display, 8 megapixel camera along with 8 GB of internal memory apart from the usual bunch of features.

The specs put forward also mention a number of connectivity options including Wi-Fi and 3.5G.

The images which incidentally are of poor quality do not reveal any QWERTY keyboard however they do indicate a touch screen that virtually covers the front with two front facing buttons protruding out of the base.

Analysts have long believed that Sony Ericssion is among the few handset manufactures that have a high end smartphone in their pipeline and such indications may have fueled the speculations.

Though images of Xperia X5 have cropped up, it interesting to note that even the first product of this range the Xperia X1 is unlikely to hit the markets until somewhere in September.

There are chances that these rumours may come up as a cropper with many already suspecting the images to be a sophisticated Photoshop hoax.
